Welcome new cadet!
How do you eat an elephant?  One little bite at a time!
There's much to do as a new cadet and it can be very confusing.  Do each step in order and you will be well on your way!

A.  After you sign your application (2 copies) and bring it in to the squadron with your $36 check made out to CAP NHQ, you will receive a letter in the mail with your CAP ID card.  Lt Wojtcuk may notify you before the card gets to your house with your number from her reports.

B.  Then you will receive a box with your new binder, all 6 AE modules, mini-posters for uniforms, and your Leadership book.  Look through them.

C.  You might also get a CD titled "The Next Step".  If you don't receive this, tell your Cadet Commander and he will give you a copy.  Explore that CD - it has huge amounts of info for you.

Now that you have your CAP ID...

1.  Go to http://www.capnhq.gov  You will get the e-services login page.  In the middle it says "First Time E-services users" - Click there and follow directions to get a password.

2.  Once you get your password squared away, login to e-services and you'll get the front page.  On the left-hand side, click on CAP Online Courses and Exams.  Under Courses - Operations - click on Operations Security Awareness Training - what you can and can't say about what you do in CAP.  You must agree at the end two times.  This will register through HQ and show up immediately on e-services reports.

3.  When you feel like doing some more, go back into e-services, CAP Online Courses and Exams - under Courses - Professional Development - click on Equal Opportunity Training.  At the end you will agree again (hopefully!) and it will register automatically with HQ and show up immediately on e-services reports.

4.  Back into e-services you go:  left side, CAP Pubs and Forms, Forms (Word), scroll down to Form 60 and click on it, open it, fill the front AND back in on your computer, and print it out.  Bring it with you to next week's meeting.

5.  Please read steps 6, 7, & 8 all together so you don't needlessly waste money!

6.
Back into e-services you go.  You will find e-services to be your best CAP friend if you learn to use it wisely.  Anyway, now let's get your FREE blues uniform.  Left-hand side - Cadet Uniform.  Follow directions; MEASURE CAREFULLY.  This uniform is free unless you have to send it back because it is the wrong size.  Until you get all parts of your blues uniform, please come to meetings in Sunday best - dress pants, shirt and tie, dress shoes.   See number 8 about ordering the "extras".

7.
To obtain your FREE BDUs you must meet with the squadron Supply Officer, Lt. Miller.  See him at your next meeting.  See number 8 about ordering the "extras".   Until you get all parts of your BDU uniform, please come to meetings in Sunday best - dress pants, shirt and tie, dress shoes.

8.  Next, you need to order the "extras".  Some supplies you may purchase from The Hock Shop  http://thehock.com   However, anything that specifically says CAP on it must be ordered from Vanguard  www.vanguardmil.com  Some items may be purchased at an army/navy store, general uniform store, WalMart (PT), AC Moore & Michaels sells cheap tee shirts.  For items marked with a @, ask Lt Wojtcuk - we might have these at the squadron.
